“Speedy” is a local favorite in Waubs Bay at Bicheno. He is easily identified by the bent appendage on his head. It sits parallel to his body, giving him the appearance of speeding along through the water. Weedy seadragons blend into their surrounding environment making them difficult to see. But when a light is shone on the dragons their appearance goes from dull browns and black to vibrant red, purple, blue, white and yellow.
